The boxwood hedge is created by placing six or seven of boxwood plants per meter. For the rest, the procedures to create the hedge are identical to those of other hedges. The planting of boxwood must consider and respect the characteristics of this plant, which requires loose soil, well drained and calcareous. The boxwood can grow in sun to shade, although exposure always depends on the variety used. Ideally it located in partial shade.
After planting, the boxwood hedge will start to grow slowly and in a compact manner. Once completed its development, the hedge could be disordered and with branches and leaves which protrude too much in excess of the typical orderly form of this natural barrier. To return the box hedge order, just prune it.
