Flatware Drawer Organizer – Covered trays offer a way to organize your dishes and cutlery inside your drawers. You can pull the cutlery trays from the drawers and use them to store your dishes and cutlery on a countertop when entertaining. This allows customers to use the necessary cutlery without having to give it to them. Narrow covered trays usually have four or five compartments versus those that fit wide drawers and offer six to eight different sections to separate different types of plates and cutlery.
Wash the silver tray with hot soapy water and dishwashing detergent to remove dirt and germs, and allow it to dry completely. Line a kitchen drawer near your counter and cooking space with drawer liner paper. This protects the wood from scratches that can occur if it slides covered when opening and closing the drawer. Place the cutlery tray in the drawer organizer so that the horizontal section is on top of your drawer. Wash and dry the silverware to prevent oxidation.
Place the knives, forks, spoons, and teaspoons in their own vertical sections inside the tray. Place the cutlery or serving utensils in the horizontal section at the top of the tray. Use the remaining sections of the tray to hold small utensils such as can openers, bottle openers, measuring spoons, knives and unrolling zesters. Remove the expandable drawer organizer trays from the drawer when entertaining. Place it in an easily accessible place near dishes and food so that guests can help themselves.
