Doll armoire is very versatile and can be used to store clothes, bedding, entertainment equipment, games or anything else you want to hide. But you can also use your armoire not to hide, but to show a collection as an integral part of your room interior. The deck has a warm, comforting, country feel and fill a room with character. Make a wonderful, old-fashioned gathering point for your room by showing your quilt collection in your armoire.
Find old quilts at secondhand stores, flea markets or garage sales. The blankets are professionally dry cleaned because they are often very sensitive. If they are very fragile, antique quilts, it is best to soak them in a bowl of cold water and shake gently after wiping towels. Fold the blankets to fit your doll armoire. If an old blanket has a damaged or torn area, fold it to hide tears.
Stack the blankets inside your armoire; wrap them on top of each other without pushing the lower blanket flat. Depending on the width of your doll armoire, you can make two or three bars per shelf. Hang two of your favorite covers over the top of the open armoire door. Move the covers so that one on the bottom is lower than one on the top. Place a large basket on top of your armoire to complete your country look.
