Everyone loves wicker rocking chair. Supposedly invented by Ben Franklin, the rocking chair has been popular among the presidents of the United States, from Abe Lincoln to John F. Kennedy. It is useful to lull the baby, but also to relax by the fireplace or on the porch.

Parts of the wicker rocking chair that make it swing back and forth are naturally calls, rocking. These are pieces of material (usually wood) attached to the bottom of the legs of the chair. Are bent up at the ends and allow the chair up and down gently rocking in a pattern.

Part of the wicker rocking chair in which you support your arms is called support. Some examples include “mouflon” or cushions for comfort. Not all rocking chairs have arms holders.

Back support in a rocking chair is often made of axles or a “splat”. A splat is the piece of wood shaped vase that is in the center of the back of a chair. The axes are cylindrical pieces of wood so that they are placed in holes in the back of the chair and stick to the top bracket.
